Dry Granular Fertilizer Early/Spring - Pre-emergent Crabgrass Control
Fertilizer at this time is crucial for an early spring green-up. These are also the months when we can most effectively control crabgrass and foxtail. You must act quickly though, to ensure the greatest percentage of control. Broadleaf weed control is included only after temperatures have reached 45Ü or above, weather permitting
Heavy Rate Of Fertilizer/Late Spring - Broadleaf Weed Control
Fertilization along with broadleaf weed control will be applied at this time. Please remember we can only control those broadleaf weeds showing at the time of application. This is a critical time for insect activity to start. Insecticides will be added as needed to control surface feeding insects.
Slow Release Granular Fertilize/ Mid Summer - Broadleaf Weed Control
Much more difficult weeds come in at this time. Heavier strength treatments will be included for broadleaf weeds. Hot weather brings out the chinch bugs and sod webworms. Insecticides are applied as needed to control them. Fertilizer is applied at this time to sustain your lawn through the high stress of summer heat.
Slow Release Summer Fertilizer/Early Fall - Broadleaf Weed Control
Fertilizers are applied to prepare your lawn for early fall, Herbicides and insecticides are applied as needed for increased control of weeds and surface damaging insects.
Winterizer (Potash Fertilizer) & Lime application
Optional Fall Core Aeration loosens soil compaction and promotes new root growth. Fertilizer will be used to help prevent winter stress and promote healthy root development. Your lawn will also green-up sooner next spring. Lime will be applied on an as needed basis per the results of your soil test.

When the thatch layer reaches a depth of 1/2 inch, it should be removed. Do not try to remove it all at one time. Begin with a light setting and run it over the lawn in two or three different directions each time lowering the setting until the desired amount of thatch is removed. Make sure the lawn is mowed close before starting the dethatching process and watered thoroughly afterwards to promote a quick recovery. The best time to dethatch is in September. Aeration is the removal of small cores of soil to allow air, moisture and fertilizer down to the root zone. The removal of these small cores in a lawn also helps prevent rainwater run-off by allowing moisture to reach the root zone of your grass. The controlled removal of the small soil cores has many benefits. It allows fertilizer, water and air to quickly reach the root zone of your grass. Our specially designed aeration equipment consists of a series of hollow coring tines mounted on wheels. When these hollow tines are rolled over your lawn, they puncture the soil systematically removing small soil plugs. The equipment is compact and can be easily used in confined areas.
